Hawaiian-Grown Coffee vs Kauai-Roasted Coffee

Hawaiian-grown tells you where the coffee was grown. Kauai-roasted tells you where it was roasted.

For coffee grown on Kauai, choose 100% Kauai from Kokee Farms. A coffee roasted in Hanapepe can come from another Hawaiian island or an origin outside Hawaii. Read the origin on the product page before choosing.

If you want coffee grown on Kauai

100% Kauai comes from Kokee Farms in West Kauai’s Kokee highlands beside Waimea Canyon. The coffee combines Bourbon and Red Catuai arabica varieties. Expect citrus and jasmine with a sweet caramel finish.

That is the clear choice when origin on Kauai is what you are buying for.

If you want Hawaiian estate coffee from another island

100% Maui comes from Maui Grown Farms in the West Maui Mountains above Kaanapali. 100% Kau, Hawaii Island comes from the Kau district of Hawaii Island.

Each product page identifies its origin and current buying options.

If you want coffee roasted on Kauai

Kauai Roastery also roasts coffees from other Hawaiian islands and global origins in Hanapepe. Pakala, Espresso Blend, Toddy Blend, and Water Processed Decaf are different coffees with their own product details and origins.

Calling them Kauai-roasted is accurate. Calling every one of them Kauai-grown is not.

That distinction is worth keeping. It helps you buy with your eyes open. It also gives each coffee a story that is actually true.
